the following is a press release
February 10, 2020-Carmen Saint James has recently published a new compilation of her unconventional cannabis-colored stream of consciousness writing in The Psychotropic Journals Volume II. Considered part memoir, part pothead poetry, Volume II differs greatly from traditional storytelling due to Saint James’s commitment to offering up her most authentic self to the reader. In order to extract her innermost, raw thoughts and allow them to rise to the surface, Saint James uses cannabis to loosen the ego's grip over her narrative. Thus, uncensored and unedited, Saint James reveals her most genuine and pure self whereby readers may relate with her dark humor or sad truths. In a time when the market is saturated with cookie-cutter predictable story lines, Saint James’s work is in a field of its own. She proclaims, “this work is not meant to be perfect but to be real.”
What you can expect from Saint James’s Volume II is more elevated quests for truth and questions like, “Will I always be less than the woman announcing her pregnancy?” “Can people develop awkwardness or are people always awkward?” And even, “Do you ever just leave your vibrator in your vag cause you’re dead from a power gasam and the vibe just pulses right out of your vag?” Saint James masterly moves from vulnerable self-revelations to random one-liners without skipping a beat, thereby keeping readers on the edge of their front-row seat on the emotional rollercoaster that is her thoughts.
Not bound by conventional literary structures, Saint James is not your typical author; she has instead forged her own path by developing a purely genuine, authentically revolutionary method of storytelling. Her dedication to the continuous pursuit of unleashing her wildness is apparent through various channels of her work including written pieces, photography, and performance art.
The Psychotropic Journals Volume I and II are available for purchase on Amazon.
